Highland Alzheimer's Care Residence is a licensed Home For the Aged that specializes in providing Person Centered Care for persons living with advanced memory loss disease. We are licensed for up to 32 residents. Residents must be 60 years and older, unless a waiver is obtained. Both Companion rooms and Private rooms are available (click here to check current availability).
Highland provides 24 hour care and supervision. Most residents are in the moderate and late stages of their dementia disease process. End of life care is also provided in collaboration with the hospice agency of family choice. Highland is staffed 24 hours per day with excellent staff to resident ratios.
Highland’s management team will work with health care professionals to facilitate a smooth and orderly admission any day of the week; we will even make evening appointments if necessary. We can also accept emergency admissions if all the required documents are ready and available. Please call us to discuss your specific needs or to ask for more information.
Outpatient Therapies are also available at Highland through third part providers such as Allegiance Home Health and Great Lakes Home Health Care. Many older adults with memory loss do not adjust well to changes. In the event of a hospitalization, many persons with dementia have come to Highland to recover from injuries and illness successfully, without distress. Outpatient therapies can work with residents at a steady pace while the Highland environment surrounds them with lots of care and support for all the time in between the actual therapy sessions.
Highland Alzheimer's Care Residence also provides Adult Day Care and Overnight Respite Care. Financial assistance for these options may be available for financially eligible families through the Jackson County Dept. on Aging.
