


Highland Alzheimer’s Care Residence is a state licensed Home for the Aged that specializes in caring for people with moderate and late stage dementia. End of Life care is also a Highland specialty in collaboration with local Hospice agencies. Highland provides long term care and short term options such as Overnight Respite and Adult Day Care. Residents are aged 60 years and older and have been diagnosed with a form of dementia such as; Diffuse Lewy Body Disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Vascular or Frontal/Temporal Disease, as well as dementia secondary to other disease processes such as: Cancer, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Huntington’s disease. The facility is secured for resident safety. Family visits and participation in facility sponsored events are strongly encouraged.
Highland has been serving the greater Jackson area for over 40 years and has experienced continued success in this challenging care specialty. Highland employs licensed nurses and a licensed social worker with many years of experience. Around the clock direct care is provided by superb, well trained and loving staff; which is Highland’s biggest asset. We are staffed to accommodate persons with dementia who are also in need of 24 hour care and supervision. Examples of care provided, but not limited to, include: behavior management, toileting, bathing, dressing, medication management, assistance with bed mobility, feeding and restorative mobility. Highland’s staff is uniquely trained in promoting the highest level of independence in the least restrictive homelike setting for persons with dementia.
