Highland Alzheimer’s Care is licensed by the State of Michigan as a “Home for the Aged”.  We are a small residential care facility that specializes in caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.  Highland is a “Lock down” secure unit, which means that all exit doors are monitored by alarms and that visitor and employee entrances also require a key to open. And, in addition to door security, Highland maintains high staff to resident ratio’s to ensure that residents and staff are safe and adequately supervised. Everything that we say, that we do and that we believe in is 100% dedicated to serving people with these kinds of special needs.  The therapeutic environment at Highland Alzheimer’s Care has repeatedly enabled us to provide a comfortable living experience to individuals coping with these very difficult life circumstances.  

Highland’s management and staff work together with families and medical care professionals to discover the optimum combination of care options to meet every individual’s unique situation.  We have been very successful in caring for individuals with advanced dementia diseases, including many individuals with difficult behavioral issues. Families who have come to Highland are delighted that their loved ones are more comfortable and contented with us and they appreciate the excellent value for the care that we provide.

Often, our residents and their families become so comfortable while residing here at Highland that they choose to stay through to the end of life.  Highland’s dedicated staff working in conjunction with several local Hospice Care providers make this difficult time as comfortable as possible for each resident AND their family members.
